Raised by Wolves looks amazing. I personally can not wait for this one to come out. I loved Jenna's Tattoo series, and I am a sucker for werewolves, Melissa Marr being one of my favorite authors (cause she is such an amazing person too!) has an amazing quote on the cover that makes me want to buy it more. There are not a lot of good YA werewolf books out there. I can honsetly see Raised by Wolves moving to to top of my Top 12 list.

PACK LIFE IS ABOUT ORDER, BUT BRYN IS ABOUT TO PUSH ALL THE LIMITS, WITH HAIR-RAISING RESULTS.

At the age of four, Bryn watched a rabid werewolf brutally murder her parents. Alone in the world, she was rescued and taken in by Callum, the alpha of his pack. Now fifteen, Bryn's been raised as a human among werewolves, adhering to pack rule (mostly). Little fazes her.

But the pack's been keeping a secret, and when Bryn goes exploring against Callum's orders, she finds Chase, a newly turned teen Were locked in a cage. Terrifying memories of the attack on her mom and dad come flooding back. Bryn needs answers, and she needs Chase to get them. Suddenly, all allegiances to the pack no longer matter. It's Bryn and Chase against the werewolf world, whatever the consequences.

An exciting new paranormal adventure, with a heroine who rivals Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Raised By Wolves will leave you howling for more

Fallen - Lauren Kate
Love
[info]beautyxinsainty
While reading this I kept finding my self wanting to compare it to something, I went back and forth between Twilight and Hush, Hush. The instance-love is something that has been done way to many times. I know thats why I kept wanting to say: "this is like Twilight" but its really not, it's not like Hush, Hush though Daniel is a jerk like Patch, (got to love those bad boys)

Fallen is slow to start though I feel that its an solid start to a series, there a lot to cover. Though the book is slow to start the author style is easy flowing although there are times where I think the book would of really benefited from being in first person.

The Insta-Love that happens in this book, for once makes a whole lot of scene. I was suspired how well Kate did this, a lot of times it seems cheesy (Twilight, Vampire Dairies, Hush, Hush, Deadly Little Lies, to name a few that I like.)   But I think she did it really well, buy the when Daniel first see's Luce and for a moment he smiles, and then he gives her the finger, which I think is a cosmic "shove it."

Some people say they don't like how Daniel treats Luce, but in my books it's great, he's not abusing her, he's trying to stay a way, trying to be the one who resist temptation. When he tells her nobody is good enough for her he means him self too, that she's such a unique soul that nothing should be good enough for her. It is clear that Daniel loves her from the first time they are alone together.

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes Angels, and books that are plotted so that there are very few surprise, it's very one track. The ending, I haven't eaten that much since watching the end of the second season of Roswell, I ate a box of crackers and 3/4's of a bag of cearl. Its a solid read, if life didn't get in the way I could of read it in one sitting.

I give this book 4 stars out of 5

Shiver - Maggie Stiefvater (Thursday)
Weakness
[info]beautyxinsainty
Review of Shiver

I have many times said that I dislike Shiver before finishing it, and at this moment in time that I am writing the intro to this review (in class might I add because I can not get this out of my head) I can not say weather or not I like it.

I am finding lately that whenever I relate to a character I dislike the start of the book. While reading Shiver, I found my self knowing a little to well what Graces situation with her parents was, my parents were never around growing up, both working 9-10 hour days, and going out more then once a week, once I was old enough not to need a babysitter I was often alone. And I know this is wrong, but I some how get pissed off at Grace because though I am relating, to her and yet she gets a guy, and I know many latch-key kids don't because they seem to be so socially awkward to have a committed relationship, so I am a little bitter about that.

Plot, I found this plot being anti-climatic, though there were parts near the end I could not put the book down, until it was time for class, and even then I started the review. I have strong dislike for the first two-hundred pages of this book, but the last hundred and eighty pages is well worth the getting through the first.

As well I found Sam a little too perfect, it drove me insane. Grace, well I have already said that I relate too much too her, so I don't think it would be too fair to me to judge because I will be bias. But I love the supporting characters for this book, there was a point where I like Olive more then I like Grace, and Rachel is just the friend that everyone wants,  to be getting along so she can have a great old time over break(she reminds me a lot of my sister [my rock] I really love Rachel).

Over all now that I am done, I can say I liked Shiver, not as much as Lament, but it was a easy read, simple and very said, I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a touching read, because there are many things that you find in Maggie Stiefvater  that you wont find anywhere else. I look forward to reading Linger

I give this three stars over all and the last 1/2 i give four stars.

Monday - Review Witch and Wizard
Reading
[info]beautyxinsainty
Witch and Wizard by James Patterson & Gabrielle Charbonnet

My mom and nan L-O-V-E James Patterson, with a passion, they have read every adult book that he has wrote, my nan has a nice book case in her basement of the Alex Cross & Womens Murder Club books and everything in between. Though they loved When the Wind Blows and Beach House they refuse to read Maximum Ride  because its "thats kids book" though never reading the Maximum Ride books, or most of his adult books (i've read around 6 all out of order) The fact that my family won't read there favorite authors (K my moms favorite is John Stanford)  books because they are writing YA? This baffills me.  That is like me Not buying Haft Minute Horrors because (roughly) 16 authors I have read a lot of are writing a Middle Grade book. I hate it when my family and other adults say there is something wrong with Grown Ups readying YA. but nobody said a word when it was Twilight or Harry Potter which is not YA but Middle Grade.

On to the book.

I love Witch & Wizard, its a Dystopian novel, and after studying dystopians in Grade 12, I have sorta come to judge them  based highly on the building blocks my teachers gave me. and James Paterson does an AMAZING job with Witch and Wizard. The characters came alive to me even the ones who were dead.
Wisty and Whit are amazing characters, Whit is between Gabe (blood and Chocolate) and Rabbit (Faery Court Books) on my list of YA Crushes. These characters have a heart breaking journy that they have been thrusted into and they have learned to adapt to there new found life style.
In true James Paterson fashion with short chapters and a fast pasted novel I give this book
***1/2 stars. (3.5) out of 5

Go Check out, Witch and Wizard, it may not be a book worth buying but it is a solid read.

Grace Divine, daughter of the local pastor, always knew something terrible happened the night Daniel Kalbi disappeared--the night she found her brother Jude collapsed on the porch, covered in his own blood--but she has no idea what a truly monstrous secret that night held.

The memories her family has tried to bury resurface when Daniel returns, three years later, and enrolls in Grace and Jude's high school. Despite promising Jude she'll stay away, Grace cannot deny her attraction to Daniel's shocking artistic abilities, his way of getting her to look at the world from new angles, and the strange, hungry glint in his eyes.

The closer Grace gets to Daniel, the more she jeopardizes her life, as her actions stir resentment in Jude and drive him to embrace the ancient evil Daniel unleashed that horrific night. Grace must discover the truth behind the boy's dark secret...and the cure that can save the ones she loves. But she may have to lay down the ultimate sacrifice to do it--her soul.

Dark Divine comes out December 22nd

Warrior Princess by Frewin Jones
The feast was over. Branwen lay on her mattress in the princesses' bedchamber the mattress had been put against the wall near to the door while the other two mattresses lay close together on the far side of the room. The Chamber was lit by the fail glow of rushlights, and the two princess were sitting facing each other fur covered chest while Hild and Aelf knelt behind them to undo the intricate coils of there hair. The girls were talking softly to each other as the combs and pins and strings of jewels were removed. - page 139

I really like the author's tone it it cool and calm describing something that he is obviously apposed too.

Forcing my self to Blog today. dont feel like it, but there are going to be days were I dont. and i just have to get use to it.

Quote:

To err is human, to forgive is divine - Alexander Pope

Right Now I am having a hard time forgiving people, I hold grudges and its the holidays so I shouldn't right? so I am trying to work on this one.

Music:
All I Want For Christmas is You - Jason Marz and Tristian Pretty Man
I just like it, there is snow here and its gets me in the holiday mood.

Movie:
Cruel Intentions
This was REALLY good, I dont say this often about movies but I really liked this, and want to buy it, and I don't buy movies. The story, is funny, heartbreaking, touching. and most of all, all of the characters are real, I know someone like everyone, its great, really moving too, I found. I also think this was the best use of the song "Colourblind" by the Counting Crows I have seen.

Kathryn: What happened to us?
Sebastian: Nothing's changed.
Kathryn: yes it has. You're in love with her, you don't love me anymore.

Thanks [info]astoria_potter for the Movie Rec.

Blood Promise - Review
Reading
[info]beautyxinsainty
Done Blood Promise it's only been out 102 days I don't know why, but I kept putting it off and putting it off. But when I finally picked it up two days ago, i really figured it out though My best friend left for China and me and her are just like Rose and Lisa, and I honestly thing Rose was so out of character in this book, she reacted with no logic it would seem to a lot of what was thrown at her way.

Over all I found this lacking the normal kick that the Vampire Academy books which drove me from point a to point b the with in the first two days of release for Frostbite and Shadow Kiss. I also found that Blood Promise had at least forty pages of flash backs that we have read in prier books.

The book starts out with Rose in Russia killing any Stigio that she see's. Jumping from bar to bar hunting. This really didn't grab my interest right away, I found Blood Promise daunting.

Though I have to say, after I seriously started to read it, I devoured it, I read it in basically three sections. Desperately wanting to see some of my favorite characters, after the first sitting of Lissa and Christian I relised how much I missed them. And the first time Adrian i remembered how much I loved him, his corky scene of humor i really cant believe how much I missed him.

The side plot and side characters were so much more entertaining then the main part of the book. I enjoyed the book, but not in the same way that I hoped to after last November when i read Shadow Kiss

Blood Promice - Rant
i'm going to hell
[info]beautyxinsainty
So I will be reviewing this book once I am done but, I need a rant

Books relating to live. I am in the middle of Blood Promises by Richelle Mead, and there is a couple of things That I would like to day.

First I'd like to point out that Rose (my bff not Rose from the book) is in China right now, and her and me have a relationship that is oddly enough like Rose and Lisa down to we really have a "bond" (not that we can be in each other mind) but we have the same reaction to things and when she's sick im sick, and vice versa. All this book is really pissing me off! like Hello your in fricken Russia! why are you not picking up the phone and talking to her, like 30seconds to say: "hey I'm alive, I love you. I'll get back to you as soon as I can." but does she NO! This seems out of character for Rose (book) because she's normally so depended on keeping tabs on Lisa and everything, you can't just abandon her, you can't just be okay I know she's okay.

Brightly Woven by Alexandra Bracken

(03/23/10)

Sydelle Mirabil is living proof that, with a single drop of rain, a life can be changed forever. Tucked away in the farthest reaches of the kingdom, her dusty village has suffered under the weight of a strangely persistent drought. That is, of course, until a wizard wanders into town and brings the rain with him.
In return for this gift, Wayland North is offered any reward he desires—and no one is more surprised than Sydelle when, without any explanation, he chooses her. Taken from her home, Sydelle hardly needs encouragement to find reasons to dislike North. He drinks too much and bathes too little, and if that isn’t enough to drive her to madness, North rarely even uses the magic he takes such pride in possessing. Yet, it’s not long before she realizes there’s something strange about the wizard, who is as fiercely protective of her as he is secretive about a curse that turns his limbs a sinister shade of black and leaves him breathless with agony. Unfortunately, there is never a chance for her to seek answers.
Along with the strangely powerful quakes and storms that trace their path across the kingdom, other wizards begin to take an inexplicable interest in her as well, resulting in a series of deadly duels. Against a backdrop of war and uncertainty, Sydelle is faced with the growing awareness that these events aren’t as random as she had believed—that no curse, not even that of Wayland North, is quite as terrible as the one she herself may carry.
